Eagle's Story
I was a M2A2 gunner. Then Commander. I served 15 wonderful years serving my country. I was a Ranger in the 2/75th Ranger Battalion. During the first Gulf War and in Somalia. I then took a leave from service in 99 till 2001.
I reuped in May of 2001 to the 1/167th (4th Alabama) Mechanized infantry. I was a E-7 SFC so I was given the job of Plt Sgt. of 1st Plt. On Oct 6th, 2001 we were mobilized and sent to Ft Rucker Alabama for initial Mobilization processing. We went from there to Anniston Army Depot in Anniston, Alabama as homeland security of the chemical storage thru July of 2002. We were then ordered to Iraq as part of the stabilization force. On July 30th 2002 I met and fell in love with Corey. We were set to deploy on Aug 9th 2002. So i knew at 29 I did not want to deploy unmarried. So i asked her to marry me. She agreed and we wed on aug 5th 2002. I deployed 3 days later.

Arrived in country Aug 20th after a week in Kuwait for up armouring and getting everyone aware of the gravity of our mission. We arrived Aug 20th to camp Kurada Iraq. and set into our barracks. My first mission was to escort a group of Iraq Prisoners from Tikirt to Baghdad. In route to Tikirt my convoy was ambushed by a large group approx 200 Insurgents with RPGs, IEDs and various small arms and MGs. My new E-2 driver paniced and dropped ramp in middle of ambush to dismount troops. 3 RPGs later all 6 dismounts and my driver were dead. My gunner was missing his right leg and arm with severe injurys to his face and head. I took a large piece of shrapnel through my back into my spine. Paralizing me from my waist down. Thanks to several brave members of my company we were pulled to saftey. After 2 years of rehab and no surgery beyond the initial to remove the shrapnel. I was able to walk very briefly (Around the house with a cane) but am bound to a wheelchair for any other travel. I had been playing AW3 and enjoyed it. But i couldn't find it online anymore. So I turned to my second favorite SIM, SteelBeast. (A tank SIM). But after multiple arguments about the way they spoke to and about my wife. I finally told the community where to get off. And was blackballed by the community. After several months of no online games I went looking once again for AW3. I found AH and fell in love.
As I said, I served 15 years in the Army, and was part several Virtual Units online for other Sims. But i have never felt like i was truely welcomed as I have being part of the "SkyKnights". Along with "The Flying Tigers" I have had any question I asked (After it was Descrambled) new headset is on the way so everyone will hear what i say at least a little better. I am really enjoying being affiliated with these fine units and hope to do everything within my power to make those names strike terror into our enemys and bring admiration from everyone.
