JackD's Story

Let me get started...

In 1995 my fifth grade teacher gave me a computer game called flight simulator '95. I was hooked. I have always loved aircraft. From a small age it was always, let's go to this air show or that air show. My first real combat flight sim was b-17. I played it so much that I finally messed up the disk.

I took a break from computer games until we got a new system. One night I was watching the History Channel and an advertisement came up for Aces High. I thought what the heck, I will try it out see if I like it. I download the free trial and play for a couple days. On Sunday I was flying in the Blue arena and saw a flight going towards a base. I was in a B-17 and asked if it was ok if I joined. I didn't do much but fly my AB-17 Nightstalker (ie. using the B-17 as a gunship). Well I flew with them for awhile and they asked me if I wanted to be a Skyknight. I was like sure, whatever it is just some kids my age having fun. Little did I know that it is really is a bunch of old guys with hearts of kids.

A little about me... I am a good 'ol country boy who is a gamer. I was in the Army for two years. I started out working on the ah-64 Apache attack helicopter. When I was deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom, I changed my M.O.S. to 11b, which is infantry. To make a long story short, I was wounded and discharged. I am only 23 years of age and love life. I enjoy flying with the Skyknights and hope we have a long and healthy relationship. I am still waiting for my first SKwing kill.

From the CO...

Unfortunately, JackD doesn't have any larger images available. However, after seeing the rodeo picture, I had to ask for an explanation. "The bull riding pic is from my senior year of high school. It was the last bull I ever rode for 8 seconds. I ended up scoring an 88.5 point ride to win the compitition but the next weekend I took a real hard hit to the face and broke both orbital lobes my nose and had a major concussion. I had ridden bulls from my freshmen year in 2000 through 2004 when i was injured. It was a good time and I won many belt buckels and saddles. I have recently started to train my 18 year old cousin... you know living my dream through him."
